In a recent interview, the director of The Royals opened up about Ishaan Khatter’s shirtless moments in the series — scenes that have certainly caught fans’ attention. According to the director, Ishaan was actively involved in discussions about the creative choices behind those shots.

“There were times when he questioned if we were overdoing it,” the director revealed, acknowledging the actor’s thoughtful approach to his portrayal. “Ishaan was very aware of how his character came across on screen. It wasn’t about showing off physique — it had to make sense in the context of the scene.”

The director emphasized that every such moment was crafted with intention, adding, “It was important for us that nothing felt gratuitous. Ishaan brought that sensitivity to the table.”

Clearly, the actor wasn’t just flexing muscles — he was flexing character depth, too.
